FAQ

1. What do I need to send you?
You just need to send us your horse’s shoe. Once you place your order, we’ll send you clear instructions on how to pack and ship it safely.

2. Can I use an old or rusty horseshoe?
Absolutely. In fact, most of the shoes we work with are well-worn and rusty. We carefully clean, polish, and restore them until they shine like a mirror.

3. How long does the process take?
On average, production takes 4-6 weeks from the moment we receive your horseshoe. Each frame is handmade with care, so quality always comes first.

4. Can I choose the frame style and extras?
Yes. You can choose the frame size, color, and optional add-ons such as an engraved nameplate, an inner pattern, or even a portrait engraving.

5. Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship across Europe and beyond. Shipping costs and times depend on your location, and we’ll provide details at checkout.

6. Can I track my frame after it's been shipped?

Once your order is completed, packed and sent by post you'll receive a tracking number that you can use to follow your shipment.

7. What if I don’t have my horse’s shoe?
No worries - we can source a horseshoe for you and still create a meaningful frame. Just let us know when ordering.

8. How do I care for my frame?
Our frames are designed for indoor display. No special care is needed. Simply dust it with a soft cloth when needed - the polish and protective finish will keep the horseshoe shining for years.

9. Can this be given as a gift?
Of course! FROST&IRON frames are popular as memorials, competition mementos, or heartfelt gifts. You can even order a gift card if you’d like the recipient to choose their own style.

10. How to choose the right frame size

  • Large — 32 × 42 cm
Best fit for most dressage and jumping horses. This size gives their larger shoes enough breathing room and highlights them beautifully.
  • Medium — 26 × 32 cm
Ideal for big ponies or smaller horses. It’s the “in-between” size that keeps the shoe centered without overwhelming the design.

  •  Small — 23 × 32 cm
Perfect for ponies. A delicate frame that keeps the proportions right and ensures even the smallest shoes look special.

Still unsure? Just send us a quick photo of your shoe next to a ruler to our email frost.and.iron@gmail.com , and we’ll help you choose.
